Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) of American Trucking Associations, Inc.
tmc.trucking.orgATA's Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) is a diverse group of industry professionals who work together to improve truck equipment and technology. Since 1979, TMC has been a technical council of American Trucking Associations, Inc. TMC develops industry-recognized recommended practices that are used by fleet managers to efficiently specify and maintain vehicles. TMC’s industry best practices also provide guidance to manufacturers in the design of their equipment. We also hold two general meetings each year featuring educational sessions and industry meetings developing recommended practices; at our annual meeting our Transportation Technology Exhibition attracts more than 5,000 attendees, features more than 400,000 sq.ft of space and showcases more than 300 exhibitors. Our fall meeting features the National Technician Skills Competitions (TMCSuperTech) for professional vehicle technicians and the National Student Technician Competition — TMCFutureTech. TMC began in 1956 when a small, but select group of maintenance directors sat down with representatives from the truck manufacturing community to discuss recurring equipment maintenance problems. Since then, TMC has grown into an organization of more than 2,300 members with representatives from virtually every sector of the industry: fleets, owner/operators, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, educators, press, association representatives and technicians. http://tmcannual.trucking.org
