In the spring of 2018 Ariane Mellink discovered the 300 year old farmhouse on the outskirts of the authentic and charming village of Gigny, situated in the middle of the Burgundy countryside. After a year of restoration and renovation, La Cour des Délices opened its doors in June 2019. La Cour des Délices is an original farmhouse consisting of two buildings within a walled garden. The original farmhouse is the exclusive domain for guests with its own entrance which gives access to the flowery garden with swimming pool. The former grange has been converted into a house. From here Ariane provides on request table d'hôtes with dishes from the French, Spanish and Italian cuisine. La Cour des Délices exudes love for life in everything. In the guesthouse are three contemporary guestrooms overlooking the garden. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. On the ground floor is a common living room, lounge, library with patio doors to the garden. The pool is 5.00 x 9.00 meters and has a shallow and deep section. Because of its sheltered location it is in La Cour des Délices early in the spring and until far in the autumn outside life. In the summer months, the average temperature of the water in the pool average is 25 C. In spring and autumn the pool is heated. ART In La Cour des Délices, art plays an active role. Ariane has been active in the art world for more than 25 years. Started with an art consultancy for companies, she now focuses on projects for museums, galleries, art fairs and visual artists. In all rooms there is room for artworks, photography and rare objects. Limited or unique objects can also be seen in the public areas of the main house. In the living room of the guesthouse you will find a varied collection of art books. Artists in Residency | writers retreat Outside the high season Ariane organizes a 1 or 2 week arrangement for a maximum of 2 or 3 artists and atelier space. Ariane also offers a tailor made program with individual sparring sessions.
