Evan Cutler Ballard Fund for Wilms Tumor Research

danafarber.jimmyfund.org

Only four new drugs have been approved by the FDA, specifically for childhood cancer, in the past 20 years. Pediatric oncologists need funding to advance research, discover novel therapies for use in clinical trials, and to develop new life-saving protocols. Unfortunately only 4% of the National Cancer Institute's budget is allocated to pediatrics, despite 43 children being diagnosed with cancer in the US every day. Evan Cutler Ballard passed away from Diffuse Anaplastic Wilms Tumor in August 2020, one year after his diagnosis. His resilience through multiple experimental therapies resulted in new learnings about Wilms Tumor and the donation of his tissue to research stands to make a future impact... but only if the research is funded. The Evan Cutler Ballard Fund for Pediatric Wilms Tumor Research has been set up by his family and Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to fund research on pediatric renal cancer. Donations are administered by Evan's Oncologist to ensure effective usage. http://danafarber.jimmyfund.org/goto/evancutlerballard https://www.facebook.com/EvanAlmightyBallard
