A keen South London footballer and local referee, Tommy took his own life on May 21st 2018. The Foundation was established in February 2019 in his name, to help raise funds and awareness for those working to prevent suicide amongst teenagers which continues to be a growing problem. Figures produced by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) and published in 2018, showed that the number of teenage suicides in England and Wales increased by 67% between 2010 and 2017. In 2017-2018 alone there was a rise of 15% in the number of under 19s taking their own lives.
