We are a 501(c)3 non-profit born out of our love of our pets. Our founder, Rebecca, had a dog who needed life-altering surgery but the cost was extreme. With finances being tight, Rebecca asked the dog-loving community for help and found more than she ever imagined. Their generosity and stories about having similar situations with their pets gave birth to Buddy's Healing Paws. Our namesake, Buddy, has become a symbol of hope and love. Through the love his human had for him, Buddy lived a long and happy life but not without its own issues when it came time to turn towards pet insurance for help. Our pets are not just animals who live with us, they are a part of our families. The love shared between an owner and his/her pet is unconditional and uncomplicated. We love them as we would our own children and as such, would do anything to protect them and keep them safe. Unfortunately, medical procedures for our pets are extremely costly and even though some of us have pet insurance, it doesn't always make a difference. Genetic, and preexisting conditions, are not covered by most insurance companies and so we're left with trying to find the funds ourselves. The sad reality is that sometimes pet owners have no means by which to afford the procedures and either give up their animals or put them down. This is something Buddy's Healing Paws is striving to put an end to.
