Sustainable Housing at California (SHAC) is a student organization at UC Berkeley dedicated to affordable housing, interdisciplinary collaboration in sustainable innovation, behavior change, energy self-sufficiency, and hands-on learning. SHAC believes in energy, accessibility, scalability, and education to drive positive change in our communities and develop innovative solutions for the world beyond. SHAC is the result of a merger between the Solar Decathlon team at UC Berkeley and Tiny House in my Backyard (THIMBY) and is engaged in student education and consulting as well. We have over 30 active undergraduate and graduate student members, countless alumni, and over 30 sponsors.
