www.wcmo.eduFounded in 1851, Westminster College is a selective, private undergraduate college that offers a curriculum based on the liberal arts with an emphasis on the developmental experience. The College is dedicated to fostering excellence in undergraduate education, with an emphasis on key values — integrity, fairness, respect, and responsibility — that prepare our graduates to become the world leaders of tomorrow. With a student-faculty ratio of 10:1, the College offers a personalized educational experience, where leadership skills and experiential learning are emphasized. Westminster offers 29 majors and 39 minors, three specialty programs, and three dual-degree programs. Nearly 15 percent of Westminster students choose to design their own course of study, tailoring a major or minor to their specific interests and goals. For these reasons and more, Westminster is ranked prestigiously by U.S. News & World Report as the only National Liberal Arts College in Missouri. The institution is in the top 15 percent for graduate earnings and boasts a 98 percent placement rate. Westminster also is a Forbes Best Value College. On March 5, 1946, Winston Churchill delivered his famous "Iron Curtain" speech on campus, resulting in a tradition of renowned leaders who accept speaking engagements at the College based on its established reputation on the world stage. Former President George H.W. Bush, Former President Ronald Reagan, Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Former Secretary of State Dr. Madeleine Albright are just a few to give riveting presentations as a part of the College's international lecture series or during other special events. Prominent on campus are America's National Churchill Museum, the historic Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury, and the monumental "Breakthrough" sculpture created from eight sections of the Berlin Wall.
