The Renata
www.therenata.comThe Renata is a Nigerian online and print magazine founded by Khai Ojehomon with the aim of encouraging political participation by giving a voice to those who have something to add to the discussion on Nigeria. It is a place where heterodox political ideas to the challenges Nigeria faces can be presented and discussed. The word Renata means to be reborn. The Renata is a call for Nigeria to be reborn through active participation in politics; much has been said about the need to give the people of Nigeria a voice, little has been done to give it to them. We aim to appeal to a general audience in the hope of encouraging greater political activism amongst the new generation of Nigerians. Unlike many other news platforms, Renata journalism is available for everyone to read, regardless of what they can afford to pay because we believe strongly in information equality. With this, a greater number of Nigerians can become informed on the issues facing the country and become inspired to take meaningful action. Renata has a passion to provide readers with quality, truth-seeking journalism on Nigeria, its people, and power. It is for this reason that we keep The Renata free and open for everyone. Our revenue comes from our readers. We are a grassroots organisation that relies on voluntary membership subscriptions and contributions as our primary revenue stream.
