MUSIC EDUCATION + APPS = BEATSHOP LABS - We are musicians, designers + coders with experience teaching in over 20 schools around the world. - We develop apps designed for music creation, jamming + education. - We make music happen. Beatshop Labs provides modern music education in schools and at our Beat Labs in San Francisco and Boston. We introduce students to the music community through competitions, beat battles, producer showcases, and social events. To extend education beyond the classroom and reach a larger audience, we create music apps inspired by the “beat scene”/EDM culture and our teaching experience. By this summer, the apps will provide an in-app, self-guided Beat Lab education. Our mission is to help music fans realize their creative potential and streamline the music production process for aspiring musicians. We started teaching in 2010 after being awarded a Berklee College of Music alumni grant to create the first Beat Lab and taught at one of Boston’s oldest music conservatories. Since then, we have taught at schools around the world including Patna and Kolkata, India through the U.S. State Dept. and UNC. We are developing the Beatshop Method utilized currently in our Beat Labs into a subscription-based online platform. A virtual community and our suite of music apps will allow students to practice and learn via our interactive/video lessons. The curriculum encompasses sound design, beat-making, production, mixing, and music theory. Subscribers will be able to upload compositions for feedback from renowned producers and trained composers.
