Momentum is a consortium of companies made up of three major international players in nuclear energy: Jacobs, Assystem and Kepco E&C. As the Construction Management-as-Agent (CMA) contractor of the ITER Project, the world’s largest nuclear fusion experiment, our goal is to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. Safety and quality are paramount. Our work entails managing and coordinating the assembly and installation of more than one million components at the ITER site in Cadarache, South of France. The contract scope includes: - general coordination and management of the works to cost - schedule and technical requirements - preparation of construction works packages - supervision and quality control. Civil engineering and building work is excluded. ITER’s fusion reactor is the crucial step between what we know today and the power stations of the future. Its aim is to prove that nuclear fusion (the same general process that powers the sun) can be a viable source of abundant, carbon-free energy. Its success would change the world.
