The Light & Lighting Laboratory is a research group embedded in the Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT) of KU Leuven and located on the Technology Campus Ghent. The main research topics are Indoor lighting, Optical design, Appearance&Perception and Metrology. Within each topic, PhD research activities, generating new knowledge, are combined with numerous development projects with lighting companies. The staff is involved in the regular educational program of the Faculty of Engineering Technology of KU Leuven (both Ba and Ma students) but also in dedicated courses for industry and society. Finally, the vast measurement infrastructure of the Light&Lighting Laboratory offers a lot of possibilities for product characterization for both research and industry. The Light & Lighting Laboratory is an active member of GLV, IBE-BIV and CIE and cooperates with several universities and more than 70 companies, especially SME.
