One in every 22 women in India are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Unlike the developed nations where the disease is common amongst the older ages, it is the younger women in India that form a majority of the diagnosed cases of breast cancer. After the standard mastectomy procedure for treating the disease, the patients end up with deformed breasts which negatively affect their image and in turn their way of life. We at Prayasta 3D, are developing silicone-based personalized breast prostheses which are uniquely customized to every patient in terms of size, shape and weight. We use novel silicone additive manufacturing along with other cutting edge designs to achieve this.
