Worldwide EndoMarch

Worldwide EndoMarch hosts annual events around the world to raise awareness about endometriosis, a potentially debilitating & painful disease that affects about 1 in 8 women and girls; that’s roughly 200 million people & about ten times the prevalence of autism. If you'd like to make a difference in approximately 200 million lives, please come march with us at the 2nd Annual Worldwide EndoMarch (formerly Million Woman March For Endometriosis), taking place on Saturday, March 28, 2015, in over 50 cities around the world, including in Washington, D.C., & Palo Alto, CA. Though you don’t hear much about it in the news, endometriosis is common: an estimated 1 in 8 women and girls are affected and suffer from mild to potentially crippling pain as a result of this disease. Unfortunately, though, endometriosis often goes undiagnosed for an average of 6-10 years, mainly because the pain may be mistaken for normal menstrual cramping. You may have heard that endometriosis can damage the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. But, did you know that it also: • Is benign, but has features similar to some cancers? • Can spread, invade, and cause damage to many organs beyond the reproductive system, such as the bowels, bladder, kidneys, diaphragm, & lungs? If not detected early & treated properly, endometriosis can become a serious, extremely painful, & debilitating disease with potentially life-altering negative impacts. And so, that’s why we organize marches all over the world each year, to get the word out that endometriosis is not just 'bad cramps’, but is actually a serious disease with severe medical consequences if left untreated. Please help us end the silence about endometriosis, so millions of women and girls can receive a proper diagnosis, quality medical care, &, hopefully one day, a much-needed cure. To learn how you can get involved, please visit us online at www.endomarch.org, or contact your local EndoMarch team leader at info@endomarch.org.
