In 1985, 55 Kip Center incorporated as a nonprofit 501c3 organization offering regular classes, activities, and a nutrition program. Educational and medical programs are offered as we partner with local colleges, medical professionals, the town, county, and state agencies. Kip Center runs bus trips, and engages with community celebrations throughout the year. Kip Center operates with a staff of 3 full time, 2 part time and 5 independent contract instructors; all supported by more than 140 volunteers throughout the year, a 20 member Board of Directors and 19 organizations represented on the Bridgebuilders Advisory Committee. The Center receives funding from government, corporations and foundations, accepts donations from a variety of sources, and conducts vigorous fundraising campaigns throughout the year. 55 Kip Center is a thriving hub for older adults, serving the greater South Bergen and Meadowlands Community. Kip Center offers on-site classes and activities serving physical, emotion, educational and spiritual well-being of all its participants. In addition, under its umbrella volunteer program, Bridgebuilders, it conducts a multi-faced, inter-generational outreach to the home-bound and disabled seniors. The facility is available for rental on the weekends; the Center can accommodate up to 120 Guests seated at tables or 200 guests seated audience styles for seminars. Our mission is to promote the physical, emotional and educational well-being of older adults and to facilitate their participation in all aspects of community life.
