IE Arts & Business Club

IE Arts & Business Club (IEABC) is a student-led initiative based in IE University (Madrid), and founded with the aim of discerning the links between the Visual Arts and other disciplines. Our focal point is the global art market, with its various interconnected actors and industries. Through the organization and promotion of events such as talks, roundtables, museum/gallery tours, and studio visits, IEABC provides the IE community with opportunities to learn about art from different perspectives. Past events have touched upon subjects such as technological disruption of art markets; art as an agent of change in social justice and global sustainability; the inner workings of art dealing and world-renowned fairs such as Art Basel; and more academic topics within art history. IEABC has hosted speakers including art-dealing professionals, gallery owners, collectors, professors, and artists. Its current priority is to build an exponentially-growing community: on campus, through social media channels, and as a wider platform that promotes cultural engagement within and beyond IE University.
