Gulf Christian College is an independent, co-educational Primary and Middle School in Normanton, located south of the Gulf of Carpentaria, north Queensland. The College is approximately 700km west of Cairns and 500km north of Mount Isa. Currently the College has 111 students enrolled in Prep to Year 9 with a 60% Indigenous population. Gulf Christian College was established in 1986. Our College Mission Statement is centred on being recognised as a Christian College where opportunities are created for students through quality education, founded on Christian values and cultural heritage in partnership with staff, parents and the community. The College is part of the NCC Education Group enabling staff and students to benefit from a wide range of expertise, support, professional development and participation in an exchange program providing a creative and innovative curriculum, demonstrating significant cultural links within the local communities. The College is involved in many government initiatives designed to enhance Indigenous Education as well as strong community based activities within our Carpentaria Shire.
