George Abbot is an outstanding, non-selective secondary school. We have a long tradition of academic excellence but recognise that a great education is not only about exceptional examination results. We take huge pride in our respectful ethos and seek to develop character and confidence in each one of our young people, providing a huge range of extra-curricular opportunities and preparing them for life. We are a founder member of the Guildford Educational Partnership (GEP) Multi Academy Trust, sharing a belief that we can be more effective when we work in partnership than when we stand alone. We also operate as a Teaching School and as a School Centre for Initial Teacher Training, giving us expertise in leading, mentoring and coaching the development of colleagues at all stages of their career. Our staff are not only expert in their field, ensuring real depth and breadth across the curriculum, but also know the students incredibly well, working closely with parents and carers to make their educational journey happy and richly rewarding.
