SEAL is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-political organization, dedicated to taking action against the severe social and economic problems facing post-war Lebanon. Founded in 1997 by a small group of Lebanese-Americans based in New York City, SEAL provides local groups with equipment, infrastructural interventions and ongoing business support, in an effort to help jumpstart or expand economic ventures.  SEAL selects projects that strengthen grassroots community groups, enjoy broad community ownership and impact, and those that would otherwise be ineligible for subsidies or unable to raise capital.
