Our customers cover some of the Japanese industry leaders and the systems delivered to them have been designed fully exploiting our system design capability including object-oriented, component design technology and modeling technology such as UML. Recently we have developed our own software asset analysis tool and service process called AIS (Architecture Inspection System), and used it in our consultation. AIS can provide a variety of functionality depending on where the target system is in its life cycle. When it is applied in the very early stage of life cycle, it is used to collect the accurate and quantitative information about the existing system, which is then fed into the RFP process to obtain cost effective proposals from vendors. When it is applied to project management phase after a vendor is contracted for construction or maintenance, it automatically provides the customer with the accurate information about the vendor's activity so that they could monitor how much cost is paid to which part of the system, only by inspecting several different revisions of the source code delivered by the vendor.
