The Institute for the Advancement of Community Health (IACH) connects the Furman campus and the greater community to advance education and research devoted to supporting and improving health. The institute provides a framework for students, faculty and community partners to convene and collaborate to positively impact the health of the population in Greenville and beyond. IACH was established at Furman during the spring of 2016. It grew out of the partnership Furman had established with Prisma Health and other community organizations. Through support from these partnerships, students are connected to health-related internships, research and mentorship opportunities.
