The Oskaloosa Police Department began informally in 1853, when Oskaloosa was incorporated. Throughout the documented history of the Department, there have been 16 Chiefs of Police. The Department is committed to furthering the goals of the City Council by helping to provide a safe community, with a small-town feel and charm. We rely on assistance from the community to fulfill these goals, and work to cultivate that relationship.
