Allworth Press
www.allworth.comFounded in 1989, Allworth Press was launched with the publication of Tad Crawford's now classic Legal Guide for the Visual Artist. Author, attorney, and artists' rights advocate Crawford saw the urgent need for a book publisher that would provide practical information to creative professionals. He saw the urgent need for authoritative advice for painters, sculptors, photographers, performing artists, theater professionals, filmmakers, graphic designers, writers, and more. Based on his experience as chairman of the board for the Foundation of the Community of Artists in New York City, general counsel to the Graphic Artists Guild, and lobbyist for the Coalition of Visual Arts organizations, Crawford built a publishing program offering sound advice on marketing, promotion, pricing, copyright, contracts, web design, social media, health and safety, and more. In 2011 Allworth merged with Skyhorse Publishing, Inc. Tad Crawford, now a partner and vice president of Skyhorse Publishing, continues as the publisher for Allworth Press. Allworth, as an imprint of Skyhorse Publishing, is distributed by Simon & Schuster in the United States and around the world. Books from Allworth Press have been translated and published in China, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Japan, and more. Translation rights to titles from Allworth Press are licensed for translation by the Jean V. Naggar Agency. Allworth has co-published important, practical books by partnering with the School of Visual Arts, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the American Society of Media Photographers, the Authors Guild, Communication Arts magazine, the Design Management Institute, the Graphic Artists Guild, and Interior Design magazine. Allworth Press now has 400 titles in print while publishing ten to twelve new titles each year.
