Pangea Support Services
www.pangeasupport.comWe provide accommodation, support, cash dispensation and advice to young people on behalf of statutory and voluntary agencies. The services we provide are within a framework of anti-discriminatory practice. We safeguard the welfare of young people by minimising the risk of harassment or abuse from others whilst they are using our services. Our objective is to provide an environment where young people can live as independently as possible. We provide accommodation and support services to young people to enable them to fulfil this objective.. We provide a supported lodging scheme for young people aged between 16 and 21 years old; a bridging placement for those leaving care and who are preparing to live on their own; and also a service for unaccompanied minors aged between 16 and 21, using the supported lodgings model. Young people leaving care, estranged from parents or separated from family because of war or economic reasons, sometimes enter adult life with significant disadvantages that may impact upon their ability to meet the challenges of growing up. At Pangea, we acknowledge this and seek to develop partnerships with key local agencies. We believe that a coordinated approach will assist young people to develop the key skills necessary for an independent adult life.
