Oral History NSW was established in 1979 as a non-profit association supporting the promotion and improvement of oral history. Its aims include: - Providing a community of practice and a forum for sharing information about the techniques and application of oral history - Promoting discussion and training on all aspects of oral history as a discipline and as a means of gathering and preserving social and cultural history - Fostering preservation, access and use of oral history collections - Pursuing common objectives and maintains links with other Australian oral history associations through membership of Oral History Australia - Advocating on behalf of oral history
