The LaserApplicationCenter (LAZ) is affiliated to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Material Research. Our stregth is the cooperation within the university with other centers and institutes. We work on common research topics in the fields of materials research, surface technology, FEM simulation, foundry technology, optical technologies and energy-efficient production. Example applications are the laser pretreatment of surfaces for joining hybrid material pairings (cooperation project with IMFAA (Institut für Materialforschung Aalen) or the generation of hybrid surfaces with individualized surface properties (cooperation project with FINO (Forschungsinstitut für Innovative Oberflächen)).
