Equimundo (Formerly Promundo-US)
www.equimundo.orgFormerly known as Promundo-US, Equimundo: Center for Masculinities and Social Justice is a non-profit organization and a global leader in promoting gender equality and preventing violence by engaging men and boys in partnership with women and girls. Since 2011, Equimundo has worked internationally and in the United States to engage men and boys as allies in gender equality, promote healthy manhood and prevent violence. Previously called Promundo-US, our work was founded in 2011 in partnership with Instituto Promundo in Brazil. Our work was born out of community-based and evidence-based work to engage men and boys in gender equality and non-violent manhood in numerous settings in Latin America, Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and North America. After 11 years as Promundo-US we affirmed our mission to take the promise of an intersectional focus on masculinities and social justice to the next level, and changed our name to make clear our focus on masculinities within and always as part of a social justice framework, and to communicate that message to a broader audience of stakeholders.
