Dig In:
www.digin.org.auWe are a registered Non-For-Profit organisation that aims to provide wholesome homemade meals for marginalised individuals throughout Brisbane, having served over 13,0000 homecooked meals to those in need. Being Good At the Basics: Cooking: Our volunteers meet up and cook our homemade meals over two hours. We use the freshest and most economical ingredients available. Our recipes are a mixture of homecooked favourites, custom chef-created meals for Dig in and suggested meals our clients would like to eat. It is this extra attention to detail that has allowed Dig In to foster the reputation of the best charity cooked meals in Brisbane. Preparing Meals All meals are cooked fresh on the day in our licensed kitchen, generously provided by St James College. We place all meals in plastic containers for convenience. Serving We serve our meals at Kemp Place Park, 5pm sharp every Saturday. It is here we chat and catch up while people are digging into their meal. We served our first meal in October 2017 Dig in: has been established by university students to be the most inclusive charity Brisbane has to offer. We value working together as a community and aim to achieve this by collaborating with individuals from all walks of life to help those in need. Different groups bring different skills, benefits, ideas and thoughts thus, putting this all together allows us to find the best possible solutions for helping others. By us working towards a common purpose, we can develop a platform to do some good and make a difference in the community. OBJECTIVES Dig In’s primary goal is to help provide every disadvantaged person in Brisbane a filling feed that is substantial, hearty and wholesome. We will partner with individual members of the community who can contribute to the collective good, through for example funding, cooking or serving. We will establish multiple donation sources to fund all of our charitable endeavours.
