Known to seafarers around the world as Stella Maris, the Apostleship of the Sea (AoS)cares for the spiritual, social and material welfare of all seafarers regardless of colour, race or creed. The Apostleship of the Sea is the apostolic work of the Catholic Church offering hospitality and pastoral care to the People of the Sea. In almost every country bound by sea there exists a community of people who care for seafarers, fishers and their families regardless of their country or culture. In Australia, AoS services are located in 13 ports: Adelaide, Albany, Bell Bay, Brisbane, Bunbury, Fremantle, Hastings, Mackay, Melbourne, Newcastle, Port Hedland, Sydney and Townsville.
