Davis Financial Analyst Society is a student built organization that prepares UC Davis undergrads for entry-level analyst positions. DFAS connects our members with individuals working in the finance field through our mentorship program as well as hosting guest speaker events and workshops. In the past, we have had guest speakers working as investment bankers, financial analysts, and portfolio managers who have given us a sight into what they typically work on in their day to day life. In addition to that, our workshops help obtain skills such as Microsoft Excel and the use of the Bloomberg Terminal. We strive to increase awareness of possible career paths in finance by providing our members with what they are interested in. Our goal is to go beyond the classroom and bridge the gap between classes and the workforce. The 7 primary levers DFAS will operate are: 1. Foster a community of “Davis” financial analysts 2. Bringing businesses interested in financial analysts come to recruit at Davis 3. Providing mentorship programs between UC Davis Finance Alumni & students 4. Establishing partnerships with local Davis/Sacramento firms to funnel internships. 5. Bringing applicable guest speakers who are financial analysts 6. Providing supplementary materials expected of financial analysts 7. Helping students prepare for the CFA exam
