Our aim with 516 Candles is to empower homeless people in Indianapolis. In order to achieve this, we have adopted a buy-one, give-one model where for each candle purchased, a pair of gloves is donated to our partner, Horizon House, which is a homeless day center in downtown Indianapolis. These gloves are then distributed to individuals in need. Currently, we make a variety of scented candles in glass jars, cans, and unique mugs, all with clean-burning soy wax and either a normal or wooden wick. As a part of our long-term mission, we hope to partner with homeless shelters around the country to provide underwear, gloves, and socks to those who need them most. While we do love making great candles, our strongest passion is to support the homeless.
