Journal of Clinical Pathways® (JCP) features peer-reviewed educational and informational articles on issues related to the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pathways. Relevant topics include comparative-effectiveness research; big data analytics; methods in clinical pathway development; optimization of clinical pathway implementation and adherence; health economics and outcomes research; patient-centered outcomes; and alternative payment and value-based care models. The mission of JCP is to provide a platform to advance the discussion of clinical pathways as a means to provide high-quality, cost-effective care. This is especially relevant to today’s health care landscape as it is undergoing a paradigm shift from a traditional fee-for-service to a value-based care model.
