The LOSA Collaborative
www.losacollaborative.comThe LOSA Collaborative is dedicated to the continuous improvement of global aviation safety as the premier provider of LOSA and TEM education, implementation, and benchmarking delivered with the highest levels of quality, integrity and customer service by the world’s most experienced LOSA team. The LOSA Collaborative (TLC) was founded by Dr. James Klinect during his time as a doctoral student at The University of Texas at Austin. Starting in 1996, Dr. Klinect and his fellow researchers began the development of Threat and Error Management (TEM) and Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA). What started out as an observational research project to study pilot performance from inside the cockpit turned into a leading safety performance indicator for aviation operators around the world. To date, TLC has implemented LOSA projects based on lessons learned in the commercial airline industry, the military, air ambulance, offshore helicopter, and law enforcement aircraft operators. Resting on recognition and laurels is not part of TLC’s DNA. Our team comprises a select group of safety subject matter experts, retired aviation executives, researchers, and pilots located around the world. The majority of these team members have been with TLC for most of its existence, which speaks to their dedication and passion for the importance of LOSA in the improvement of aviation safety.
