Grand Valley State University works alongside some of the highest performing charter schools in Michigan. At the GVSU Charter Schools Office, we aspire to serve students through continuous and actionable performance monitoring, the rigorous application process, and continuum support focused on improving the practice of teaching. We authorize 78 schools throughout Michigan, serving over 34,000 students. Our offices are located in Grand Rapids, MI on the GVSU Pew Downtown Campus as well as in downtown Detroit in the GVSU Detroit Center. Using the university's collective resources and our diversified culture, we contribute to the enrichment of our student's education. As authorizers, we aim to continuously improve and strive to be the model of excellence for our charter school.
