The Family Crest

www.thefamilycrest.net

It’s fitting that The Family Crest was born in San Francisco, a city known for its rich history of experimentation, innovation and progressive thinking. It’s the kind of place that would welcome The Family Crest’s audacious vision for how music could be created. Beginning as a collaborative recording project in 2008, the group formed in early 2010 into a six-piece band with an ‘extended family’ of 300 who participate in recordings, live performances, and other media and art projects. The band aims to form an interactive community around a common musical platform, dissolving the barrier between artist and audience member. Fusing rock, classical, folk, and jazz, The Family Crest’s versatile style has become a favorite of music lovers around the world. The San Francisco Chronicle states, “while vying to collect more musicians onstage than the Decemberists or Arcade Fire, The Family Crest harbors an affection for Burt Bacharach-style swingin’ romanticism that is sure to impress lovers of classical pop.” The Family Crest released their new EP The Headwinds on July 30, 2013 on Tender Loving Empire Records.
