Green Riding - be part of tomorrow
www.green-riding.comCurrent mobility in Germany is characterized by an increasing number of vehicles and an increasingly mobile society. Living and working places are no longer identical, and public transport in rural areas sometimes has large gaps. Both aspects lead to the fact that currently 70% of all trips are made by car. On average, however, only 1.4 people are sitting in their cars. Congested roads or land use conflicts as well as poor air and noise emissions in the cities are the result. This is exactly where Green Riding comes in. In order to increase car utilisation, we are developing an app-based ridesharing system. Following the motto "today I ride myself, tomorrow I ride along", we link the individual mobility needs of riders and passengers. We rely on routing algorithms that use location data to enable an optimal matching between the routes of those offering and those using the rides. For every Euro that a customer* charges to pay for their journeys, 7.5% is donated to environmental organisations. Customers can decide for themselves which organisation or project the donation should go to. But riding along is not the only way to actively protect the environment. Sustainability should not only be reflected in the way we travel, but is also a question of attitude to life.
