Solar power, wind energy, waste heat electricity: the global demand for renewable energy sources such as these is increasing. The trend towards the 'electrification of society' is visible everywhere. This calls for new, innovative ways to decentralise the generation of electricity, for better decentralised energy storage, and for regulation of the effects on the stability of the power grid: both the national smart grid and mini off grid power units. HAN develops and shares knowledge about such innovations in the field of electrical energy through its Sustainable Electrical Energy Centre of Expertise (SEECE).
