Fathers & Families Support Center is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 by Halbert Sullivan. Starting as a small service agency dedicated to helping transform fathers disengaged rom their children into nurturing parents, ready to support their children, FFSC has grown into a comprehensive service agency with 55 full-time employees, having reached nearly 18,000 fathers and made a difference for over 45,000 children. At Fathers & Families Support Center, our mission is to foster healthy relationships by strengthening families and communities, and we want every father to be a responsible father committed to a cohesive family relationship. Our goals are to break the cycle of poverty, child neglect and abuse, and welfare dependence by educating and preparing fathers to become responsible parents with the financial stability to support their children materially and the parenting skills to support them emotionally and developmentally. Fathers & Families Support Center provides several services, including a Family Formation Program, which is a year-long support program beginning with a rigorous, six-week, "full immersion" Instructional portion for fathers. Participants develop parenting skills for nurturing their children's development, and graduates receive supportive services for at least one year. FFSC also provides Parenting in Partnership (Co-parenting Project), which is designed to help custodial and non-custodial parents work together to achieve positive results for their children. At FFSC, we also provide legal services, employment/mentoring, reentry services, youth leadership & development, and Fathers' Rap, which meets after usual work hours and provides supportive services for Family Formation alumni.
