A BETTER WAY FORWARD Rise Up Belltown is a campaign to preserve and create affordable space – space to exist - within the boundaries of Belltown, in Seattle, WA. We are telling the story of what’s here to love, building strength by connecting as a community, and working with allies to demand changes from City leadership. A NEIGHBORHOOD IN CRISIS Every single day for the past quarter century, it has become incrementally more expensive to live or do business in Belltown. In the last decade alone, residential rents have skyrocketed and beloved local businesses have been lost and pushed out. The relative decline in affordability for both residents and business has caused a massive displacement of Belltown’s longstanding creative communities, including artists, musicians, dancers, stylists, performers, and many other others. It has also become nearly impossible for most service industry employees to have any hope of finding housing within Seattle, let alone in Belltown itself.
