Terra Mare Conservation LLC (TMC), is a private conservation practice (Women-Owned Small Business) founded in 2012 by two professionally trained conservators Claudia Chemello and Paul Mardikian. Local and global, TMC operates throughout the US and internationally. TMC's unique expertise includes the preservation of material from antiquity to the modern era, within collections and onsite. TMC has extensive expertise in the examination, conservation and preservation of cultural heritage. Treatment of metal and composite artifacts is one of our specialties, including sculpture, industrial heritage, space, aviation, large-scale and military artifacts from 15th - 21stcentury. We also conserve a broad range of other materials including stone, ceramic, wood, glass and modern materials, in addition to artifacts recovered from terrestrial and marine archaeological sites. TMC partners and collaborates with numerous cultural heritage professionals in the United States and internationally. We embrace a comprehensive preservation philosophy and are committed to conservation that supports integrated planning, collaboration and the development of custom strategies for cultural property. Our solution-based approach is consultative and adaptive, not prescriptive. We apply deep, cross-industry knowledge and expertise along with best practices and lessons learned from implementing and managing conservation projects around the globe.
