DMWD Foundation is a charity with one very simple mission: To eliminate and prevent the misuse and abuse of drugs in the community. Based in Sydney, NSW, Australia, we currently operate in several NSW areas including North Shore, South Sydney, Hills District, Ashfield and Inner West. DMWD’s key focus is preventing young adults, students and young sportspeople from using illicit drugs and the misuse and abuse of all other drugs including prescription/performance enhancing drugs. DMWD Foundation proposes to to this in 3 simple ways 1. Education - DMWD crew, including professional staff and sportspeople conduct education sessions in schools and sporting clubs throughout the year. We have different presentations for different audiences and needs, however, the message is always the same - Don’t Mess With Danger, Don’t Mess With Death and Don't Mess With Drugs. 2. Mentoring - We use our DMWD Buddy system. This program connects young sports people to various roles models in the community. 3. Rehabilitation Services - This will be a two part service: a) A helpline to those at risk and needing help including referrals to appropriate agency or health service centres b) Provide service to those that may not require the current mainstream rehabilitation services Our Rehabilitation Services line of support is due to roll out later in 2017/2018.
