KMT Teacher Training

www.kmtraining.org.uk

We believe that the most effective way to train you to teach your subject is to allow you to spend the maximum time possible in the classroom with an experienced practitioner as your Mentor. You will undertake teaching placements in at least two different schools. During each placement you will be supported by a subject specialist who has been trained to act as your Mentor, as well as a Senior Member of staff who oversees the placement. We currently offer a secondary Education in Practice Level 7 PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) that is validated by Leeds Beckett University. This is an option available to all KMT trainees and is studied alongside the KMT QTS programme. As an accrediting provider, KMT is able to award QTS independently. Those choosing to do the PGCE will achieve 60 MA credits. Anybody wishing to teach abroad must check with the entry requirements as these vary considerably in different countries. We also offer places through the Schools Direct programmes in Science, Maths, English,MFL, Business Studies, History, Geography, PE, Dance, Computer Science, Art, RE and DT. PGCE core ATs who train in Science, Maths, MFL, History, Business Studies, Geography,English and Primary participate in the relevant Subject Studies and are awarded the PGCE along with QTS.
