Walk to Art is about breaking down barriers - the intimidation of walking into an art space, and the fear of not knowing how to look at art, feel or describe it. Walk to art tours are hosted by Bernadette Alibrando, an experienced visual arts professional with extensive knowledge of the commercial and independent visual art scenes. The tours include Bernadette’s great loves - art, walking, food and wine! In 2006, Bernadette was living and working in New York City. As she pounded the pavements from Brooklyn to Chelsea to her job at Silverstein Photography Gallery, Bernadette saw an opportunity to create a different style of cultural tour, making art accessible and fun for everyone. Walk-to-Art was born! Walk to Art launched with tours of New York City, exploring the cultural life of Brooklyn, Long Island City and Manhattan. After Bernadette returned to Australia, she established Walk to Art in her hometown, Melbourne. Venice was added into the mix, and other customised tours take place throughout Australia and the world to iconic art destinations. Bernadette shares her knowledge in a way that is personable, intimate and memorable. She creates unique cultural experiences and is passionate about mentoring and promoting the careers of living artists.
