Arizona Masters of Poetry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers young people to be confident learners and positive leaders in their communities through the rich experiences of spoken word poetry. We use spoken word poetry to foster positive change by supporting youth to have healthy, constructive conversations about the things that matter most in their lives. In addition, our programming supports the development of habits and skills that lead to academic and personal success. We work to empower youth to become self-aware and self-reflective and to foster an environment in which youth learn to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and understanding. Arizona Masters of Poetry is creating a supportive, caring community where young people feel valued, understood, and heard. We are proud to provide ongoing programs and workshops in schools, monthly community workshops and open mics, and our annual Hotter Than The Sun: Arizona Youth Poetry Festival. We are reaching hundreds of young people throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area with a message of celebration and respect.
