I have been working as an executive coach, leadership and team development consultant since 1999. It is a long way from the oil rigs in the South China Sea to the shores of Lake Geneva, and I took the long and winding road to get there. Born in the UK, I have lived in more than ten different countries on four continents, developing an ability to work naturally and effectively across cultures. I am bilingual French-English and am equally at home working in either language. After gaining a degree in engineering from Cambridge University (UK) and spending the first four years of my career as an officer in the British Navy, I spent the next eight years in South-East Asia with Schlumberger Oilfield Services, first as a field engineer, then location manager. Returning to Europe, I earned an MBA at INSEAD, France and then spent six years in Paris as the head of export sales for Schlumberger before moving into human resources. Joining BMC Software in 1999, I completed over 25 years of corporate employment with various HR and Organization Development roles at EMEA and Asia-Pacific regional levels while living in Paris, The Hague and Geneva. I started my own consulting business in Switzerland in 2005, specializing in executive coaching, motivation, leadership and team development. I work with individual executives, management teams and also with very large groups where needed to create a breakthrough in attitudes to change. My approach is pragmatic, participative and experiential. I coach leaders to set high standards and above all to set the example: success is due to the team, failure to the leader alone.
