The organization has served women residing in the Triangle area who have major economic and individual challenges to self-sufficiency since 2007. InStepp offers long-term support and training to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking; women who are transitioning back into the workforce following separation or divorce; women transitioning from prison or jail and Hispanic-Latino immigrant victims of crimes. We are the only agency in the Triangle area that offers long term support and services to help battered women move from a life of abuse to long-term self-sufficiency. Each of our clients receives follow-up support for an average of nine months. InStepp uses a service intensive, long-term case management support model along with employment and career counseling, job placement assistance and skills training to help its clients overcome their challenges. Personal advocacy is also a huge part of the agency’s support model. We assist our clients in labor, housing and victims’ rights disputes; and provide language interpretation services. As an agency recognized by the Department of Justice, InStepp also offers low-cost immigration legal services. We invite you to assist us in our mission by volunteering your time to the organization or through an in-kind or monetary tax-exempt contribution.
