PT Indobamboo Lestari was founded in Kusamba, Bali, in 2012, as a manufacturer of high-quality, Strand-Woven Bamboo products, made only from the most sustainably sourced raw materials. After 6 years of continuous production, tragically, in 2018, the factory was lost to fire. However, this was only the first chapter of the story…. Today, Indobamboo remains absolutely committed to pioneering the use of bamboo to replace unsustainably sourced natural materials, by creating export-quality products, harvested and managed following our stringent sustainability framework, and in collaboration with the communities indigenous to the bamboo forest areas. Since 2018, Indobamboo has been planning for its second chapter, which begins in 2021. A new factory is being built in Flores, closer to the bamboo forests. This factory will produce semi-finished and finished goods to confirmed overseas buyers who share Indobamboo’s vision to support the forests and the communities who live within them. The vision comprises a multi-year plan to increase the volume and range of products to the customers who join Indobamboo as committed pioneers of the bamboo revolution for years to come.
