"Exquisite and electrifying performances" - so wrote the Bristol Post of Bristol Metropolitan Orchestra. A flourishing and thriving amateur ensemble with a well-established reputation for excellence, the Orchestra has grown to enjoy an enviable reputation as one of the best orchestras in Bristol and the West Country. The Orchestra's players come from all parts of Bristol and its environs and share one important thing - a passion for music. The Orchestra attracts large audiences to its concerts in St George's Bristol and the Colston Hall - the latter in aid of charities. It also attracts glowing reviews - "this orchestra is ... beyond brilliant". Just one of the reviews of its concert on 20 June 2015. Others wrote - "great orchestra and really enthusiastic pre-concert talk" ... "even though Bizet and Berlioz are not really my cup of tea, I absolutely loved the Ravel and still thought that it was an excellent evening" ... "you get used to a great programme well performed with the Metropolitan, this was fabulous even by their high standards". The full orchestra performs at least three concerts annually, principally at St. George's Bristol where it regularly attracts large audiences. String and wind groups also perform chamber music for different occasions, including charitable events. The Orchestra is a registered charity. It is run by volunteers. By supporting it, you will help it to develop its repertoire, keep improving standards and expand its reach into the community. You can support the Orchestra, e.g. by donations, sponsorship or programme advertising. There are full details on the Support page of the Orchestra's website, www.bristolmetropolitanorchestra.com.
