Hi, we're CMP. Some of our earliest supporters know us as Chicago Media Project, as our heart and soul is rooted in our founding city. We now go by our acronym CMP because it nods to our roots and speaks to our deeper purpose: COMMUNITY. MEDIA. PHILANTHROPY. We’re a nationwide community of storytellers, change-makers, artists, activists, philanthropists, and so much more. We believe: -When individuals act collectively, they are a powerful force for change. -Great storytelling tells truth to power. -Media is the platform to elevate social issues and catalyze communities to action. Since our founding in 2014, we have raised millions of dollars in funding to support impactful (often documentary) films, staged dozens of events (pitches, film fests, talkbacks, panels, and screenings), and highlighted some of the most pressing issues of our time (climate change, immigration, fair democracy, racial justice, gun violence, and more).
