The Racehorse Owners Association works to promote and protect the interests of racehorse owners in Great Britain. The level of membership has risen dramatically in recent years, from 4,500 in 1998 to the current level of more than 7,800 members. Membership costs £261 per member per year. The ROA has a Board of 10 members. Elected Board members are required to stand for re-election every three years. Board members are elected through an annual ballot amongst all members of the ROA, and meet ten times throughout the year. The ROA is run by a staff of eight, headed up by the Chief Executive, Charlie Liverton. Based in Reading.
