The built environment needs to change. While most industries are in Industry 4.0, the construction industry still remains in Industry 1.0/2.0. Robotics will play a crucial role in addressing challenges such as the shortage of houses and raw materials, excessive nitrogen and CO2 emissions, and the health and safety of construction workers. However, the question of how this will be achieved remains and brings with it numerous challenges and opportunities. Therefore, research is necessary. ROASD was established in the Department of the Built Environment at TU/e. ROASD stands for RObotic Architectural and Structural Design and serves as a platform connecting all students and researchers working with robots.
